Art Deco Apartment
| Kitchen Design in Double Bay |
| Double Bay |
This Double Bay Art Deco apartment required a kitchen and living space redesign that was modern yet cohesive to its heritage features. A structural wall was removed opening up the living space substantially allowing for an integrated marble breakfast bar that created additional dining options for the family and dramatically increased solar access. Floor-to-ceiling joinery created mass storage and a custom matching console and mirror provide a subtle entry statement. There was no chimney flue, so we created a bespoke fireplace in travertine and granite featuring a no-emission flame heater. The space that had previously served as a dining room now became a third bedroom by erecting a sound proof wall between it and the kitchen, equipped with a bespoke, period inspired built in wardrobe. The overall design has added considerable value and created more of a house-like feel to the property.
